Top 10 Universities In The World

On 19 June 2020 (Wednesday), QS World Ranking 2020 has been released. This time also Massachusetts Institute of Technology has made the first place in world's top university and Stanford University achieve the second rank Whereas, IIT Bombay has achieved first place in India’s top university. Here we are providing you the list of Top 10 Universities in the World 2020.

1.Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT):
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is a private research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was established in 1861 which one oldest University in the World. In the early days of this Universities, the researchers worked on computers, radar, and inertial guidance during World War II and the Cold War. The campus spread over 168 acres and extends over 1 mile (1.6 km) bank of the Charles River basin.

The University is generally famous for its research and education in the physical sciences and engineering, but more recently in biology, economics, linguistics, and management as well. MIT is often cited among the world's best universities by various organizations.

2.Stanford University:
Stanford University also a private research university in Stanford, California. The university was founded in 1885 by Leland and Jane Stanford. This University was established to the memory of the only child Leland Stanford, who was died due to typhoid fever at age 15. Stanford University struggled and suffered a lot in financial problem after Leland Stanford's death in 1893 and again after much of the campus was damaged by the earthquake.

There are three academic schools that have both undergraduate and graduate students and another four professional schools. Students compete in 36 different sports, and the university is one of two private institutions in the Division I FBS Pac-12 Conference. 

3.Harvard University
Harvard University is a private research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was established in 1636. The history of these Universities influences us and wealth have made it one of the world's most prestigious universities. The university is stabilized into eleven separate academic units with ten faculties and the Institute for advanced studies with campuses of 209-acre on Harvard Yard.

Harvard is a highly residential research university Harvard that has emerged as the central cultural establishment among Boston elites.


4.University of Oxford:
The University of Oxford is a research university located in Oxford, England. There is no own establishment dates but by evidence of teaching as far back as 1096. The university is build up of a many of institutions including 38 constituent colleges and a full range of academic departments which are organized into four divisions.

Most undergraduate teachings is organized around weekly also various tutorials at the colleges and halls which is supported by classes, lectures and laboratory work provided by university faculties and departments.


5.California Institute of Technology (Caltech):
The California Institute of Technology (Caltech) is a private University for doctorate-granting located in Pasadena, California. It was founded in 1891. The University is one among a small group of institutes of technology in the United States which has six academic divisions with strong emphasis on science and engineering and researches. Its campus is spread over 124-acre.

First-year students are required to live on campus and 95% of undergraduates remain in the on-campus House System at Caltech. The Universities have numerous faculty members are associated with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute as well as NASA.

6.ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology):
ETH Zurich is a University of science, technology, engineering and mathematics located in the city of Zürich, Switzerland. The University was founded by the Government in 1854. ETH Zurich is ranked amongst the most prestigious universities in Europe for engineering and technology.

It is ranked 8th in the world in 2016 by the QS World University Rankings. Twenty-one Nobel Prizes have been given to students or professors of the Institute in the last years.


7.University of Cambridge:
The University of Cambridge is a public research university in Cambridge, England. It was established in 1209. Cambridge is the second-oldest university in the World and the fourth-oldest surviving University in World. On September 2017, Cambridge is ranked the world's second best university by The World University Rankings and the world's fourth best university by three other ranking tables.

The University has produced many educated notable alumni, including eminent mathematicians, scientists, politicians, lawyers, philosophers, writers, actors and foreign Heads of State.

8.University College London (UCL):
University College London (UCL)is a public research university in London, England. It is the third largest university in the United Kingdom by total enrollment and ranked as one of the top universities nationally and internationally established in 1826.

It has includes many of institution like the Institute of Neurology (in 1997), the Royal Free Hospital Medical School (in 1998), the Eastman Dental Institute (in 1999), the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (in 1999), the School of Pharmacy (in 2012) and the Institute of Education (in 2014).

9.Imperial College London:
Imperial College London is a public research university located in London, United Kingdom. It founded in 1888. Imperial College London was granted royal charter in 1907. In the same year, the college joined the University of London, before leaving it a century later. The main campus is located in South Kensington. Imperial University is well organized into various faculties of science, engineering, medicine, and business.

Imperial is currently ranked as one of the top 10 universities in the world. In 2017, it was ranked 8th by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and 8th in the QS World University Rankings.


10.University of Chicago:
The University of Chicago is a private research university in Chicago, Illinois. Founded in 1890. The university consists of various colleges for graduate programs and interdisciplinary committees organized into five academic research divisions.

The University of Chicago has produced many prominent alumni, faculty members and researchers. Similarly, there are 34 faculty members and 17 alumni have been awarded from the MacArthur "Genius Grant".
