Applicants who scored the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the exam authorities they may appear in the (Central Seat Allocation Board) CSAB Seat Allotment Procedure. There are 07 rounds that will be organized in JEE Main Counselling 2018 and the final admission decision will be made on the basis of the procedure.
Those seats that will be allocated by the Central Seat Allocation Board will be given to candidates applied for engineering and architecture courses in NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Institutes (GFTIs). As per the opinion the counselling procedure for the upcoming session will be held in month of June 2018.
Joint entrance examination (main) counseling will not be organized separately. JEE Main 2018 counseling will be organized collectively through JoSAA 2018 for 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 20 GFTIs, which are the participating institutes of JEE Main 2018. The first round of seat allotment will be held in the month of June 2018.

JEE Main Counselling Process:
Seat allotment procedure will be completed through these 7 steps:
- Online Registration
- Choice Filling
- Choice Locking
- Seat Allotment
- Payment Of Fees
- Reporting To The RC
- Reporting To The Allotted Institute
Online Registration:
- Contenders must visit the official website of JoSAA that is josaa.nic.in.
- On the home page Hit on “Counselling Schedule” available at current event section
- A PDF page will be open on your screen “schedule of Events of JoSAA 2018”.
- Read complete details in the form of PDF
- Hit on to “Press Here Registration and Choice Filling” button.
- Enter JEE main roll number and other details
- Hit on to “log in” button.
- Fill online registration form” by enter roll number, e-mail, mobile number and other information.
- Choice Filling & Locking Of Choices:
- After filling online registration form, ask for their choices.
- Choices will be appear on the screen, choose institutes according to their preference.
- After that, hit on to “locking choice” option.
- Your choice filling will be locked successfully.
- Select options more as you can.
- You can delete, edit, change your choice until choice will be locked.
Seat Allotment:
- Seat will be allotted to deserving candidates by Joint Seat Allocation Authority under CSAB.
- Seat will be allotted based on merit list or all India rank get in main examination
- Take provisional letter from the center.
- Applicants who will participated in JEE main, they are required to carry their essential and important documents for verification process.
Reporting to the allotted institute:
- Students who have conformed their seat through seat allotment procedure, they have to report that institute at the decided date and time.
- Complete their admission formalities by submitting admission fee and other type of formalities.
- Contenders have to submit their original documents mentioned above for document verification.
- If in case contenders is not satisfied and he/she want to withdraw his/her seat then he/she have to report at the reporting center.
- After completing the withdrawing procedure applicants may try for the further counselling procedure
- After seat withdraw, the seat acceptance fee will be refunded to the candidates after deduction of Rs. 1000 as a processing charge.
- For seat withdraw process, contenders need to fill their bank account details & upload an image of cancelled cheque (same account) in a JPEG/JPG format.
- After that, download the withdrawal request letter.
- To complete the withdrawing procedure it is must for candidates to present the parents’ consent letter to the admission authorities.
