The Department of Public Works, once in 150 years Maharashtra. It is the main responsible for the
construction and maintenance of roads, bridges and government buildings. The
department also acts as technical advisor to the state government. Initially,
the work of irrigation, roads and bridges and the maintenance of public
buildings cum have been entrusted to this department.
The Public Works Department of Maharashtra was created in 1950 and
