Brief Information:
The National Green Tribunal was
established on 18th October 2010 under the National Green Tribunal Act 2010 for
the effective and expeditious disposal of cases relating to environmental
protection and conservation of forests and other natural resources, including
application any law relating to the environment and to the relief and
compensation for damages to persons and property and related matters, or
accessories.
It is a specialized agency that has the necessary experience to deal
with disputes multidisciplinary environmental issues. The Tribunal shall not be
bound by the procedure laid down in the Code of Civil Procedure of 1908, but
must be guided by the principles of natural justice.
