There are 5 simple steps by following them you can file an rti application yourself.

1.       Identify the department/subject of your query. Mention that it is state or central subject? There are different rules applied for central and state, even though they fall under the same Act.

2.       Aspirants must do homework by searching the background details. Just make sure that the information falls under the department you are queering about.

3.       The query must be asked clearly and in accurately. Ask for a copy of the documents. Fill up the RTI application form in the given format.

4.       There is 10 Rs fee must be paid by the applier. Make the payment through Indian post and keep a copy of it with you for future reference.

5.       After that post your application or hand it over personally to the ‘TAPAL” also called as Inward/Outward section of the respective department.
