Indian Railway is the national transporting system in India which was founded on 8 May 1845. Indian Railway is the biggest sector of Indian Government where 1.331 million employee which is an 8th largest employer in the World works. It is the fourth largest railway network in the World with 119, 630 kilometer of total tracks. 

Indian Railway has 13,313 passenger trains which carry more than 22 billion of passengers in a day. There are 7,216 total stations in India where this passenger train reaches provide traveling comforts to them. These passenger trains represented with five digits unique number runs at an average speed of 50 km/hr.

The headquarter of Indian Railway is in New Delhi which is a capital of India. Because large size of Indian Railway is divided into various Zones, which are further sub-divided into Divisional, each divisional has its headquarter. There are total 73 divisions in India divided by the Government of India. Each division headquarters is controlled by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), who report to General Manager (G.M) of the zone. Divisional officers (Officers under DRM)handling all the departments viz like engineering, mechanical, electrical, signal and telecommunication, accounts, personnel, operating, commercial, safety, medical, security branches report to the Divisional Railway Manager.

There are Additional Divisional Railway Managers (ADRM) is there in the support of Divisional Railway Managers in the working of the division. Indian Railway has own factories which are known as locomotives where designing of train coaches, Engines related problem (Diesel as well as Electrical) and other issues are solved. 

Every division has Accident Relief Trains (ARTs), Accident Relief Medical Vans (ARMVs) and Breakdown Cranes for assisting in disaster management. These are under the supervision of the Senior Divisional Manager of Engineering (SrDME) of the Division, who is also the head of Division. There are total 18 zones which are listed below-:

History-: The first proposal for Railway in India was proposed in Madras (now known as Chennai) in 1832. The first train in India ran between Red Hills to Chintadripet Bridge in Madras in 1837. After this is known as Red Hills Railways. This train was used to carry the stones for the construction of a road in Madras. The train has rotary steam engine locomotive manufactured by William Avery. In 1845, a railway was built at Dowleswaram in Rajahmundry. It was called Godavari Dam 
Construction Railway. 

It used to supply stones for the construction of a dam over Godavari River.On 8 May 1845, Madras Railway was incorporated. In the same year, East India Railway company was incorporated.The first passenger train in India ran between Bombay and Thane on 16 April 1853. The 14-carriage train was controlled by three steam locomotives: Sahib, Sindh, and Sultan.

The train ran for about 34 kilometers between these two cities carrying 400 people. The line was built and operated by GIPR.This railway line was built in 1,676 mm (5 ft 6 in) broad gauge, which became the standard for the railways in the country. The first passenger railway train in eastern India ran from Howrah, near Calcutta to Hooghly, for a distance of 24 miles, on 15 August 1854. In 
1880, Calcutta Tramways Company was incorporated.

In 1890, East Coast State Railway was incorporated. In 1897, lighting in passenger coaches was introduced by many railway companies. In 1902, the Jodhpur Railway became the first to introduce electric lights as standard fixtures. In 1920, the electric lighting of signals was introduced between Dadar and Currey Road in Bombay.  On 3 February 1925, a first electric passenger train in India ran between Victoria Terminus and Kurla. It ran on 1500V DC overhead traction.

Types of Trains-: The trains are classified according to their speed and halts at various stations. The list of the trains is follows-:

1.   Tejas Express-: It is a semi-high speed full AC train introduced by Indian Railways, featuring newer modern onboard facilities.  It covers 551.7 km in 8 hours and 30 minutes. Coaches have bio-vacuum toilets, water level indicators, tap sensors, hand dryers, LED TV for each passenger with phone sockets, local cuisine, celebrity chef menu, Wi-Fi etc.

2. Gatimaan Express-: It is the first semi high-speed train full AC that runs between Delhi and Agra in India. It runs at the speed of 160 km/hr.

3.    Shatabdi Express-: The Shatabdi trains are fully air-conditioned trains, which is an intercity train for travel during daytime. The Bhopal Shatabdi Express (Train No: 12001/12002) is second fastest train in India, between New Delhi and Agra cantonment, this train travels at an average speed of 90 km/h (56 mph) and touches a top speed of 150 kilometers per hour (93 mph).

4.       Rajdhani Express-: These are air-conditioned trains linking major cities to New Delhi. They have high priority and are one of the fastest trains in India, traveling at a maximum speed of around 130–140 km/h.

5.       Duronto Express-: These are the non-stop trains(except for technical halts) point to point rail services introduced for the first time in 2009, but since January 2016 it is possible to book tickets from those technical stops.

6.     Humsafar Train-: These are fully AC 3 tier coaches trains. It is also called the semi-luxury train. These trains provide so facilities like LED screen display to show information about stations and train speed, Speakers for announcement system etc.

7.    AC Express-: These are fully air-conditioned trains linking major cities in the country. They have high priority and are one of the fastest trains in India, traveling at about 130 km/h (81 mph). They have limited stops.

8.       Double Decker Express-: These are fully air-conditioned two-floor express trains. They have high priority and limited stops. These trains are used for daytime travel.

9.     Uday Express-: Same as Double Decker Express, these are fully air-conditioned two-floor express trains. They have high priority and have limited stops. These trains have berth facility and are used for night travel.

10.   GaribRath-: GaribRath is an air-conditioned with no-frills trains with seats and 3-tier Economy AC berths. The maximum speed is 130 km/h (81 mph). Some of them have AC Chair cars also.

11.   Jan Shatabdi Express-: Jan Shatabdi Express are a more affordable variety of the Shatabdi Express, which have both AC and non-AC classes.

12.   SamparkKranti Express-: These are a series of trains which provide super fast Express-like connectivity to the national capital Delhi.

13.   Kavi Guru Express-: These trains were introduced in honor of Rabindranath Tagore.

14.  Mahamana Express-: It is the new version of coaches with modern benefits and facilities. The livery of the train is also different from other trainers. It is a tri-weekly superfast train service which runs between the city of Varanasi and New Delhi via JaunpurSultanpurLucknow, and Moradabad.

15.   Superfast Express/Mail-: These trains travel at a speed greater than 100–110 km/h (62–68 mph).

16.   Express/Mail-: These are the most common kind of trains in India. They have more stops than their super-fast counterparts, but they stop only at relatively important intermediate stations.

17.   Passengers-: The passenger trains are usually slower at their speed as they halt every station. In passenger train, they have an unreserved train but have reserved seats in AC chair car.

18.   Luxury Trains-: Indian Railway also runs luxurious trains like Palace on WheelsRoyal Rajasthan on WheelsMaharaja ExpressDeccan OdysseyThe Golden ChariotMahaparinirvan ExpressFairy Queen has also gained tourist attraction because it is the oldest steam engine in the world in operation, also has a luxurious train from Delhi to Alwar.

19.   Mountain Railways of India-: These are railways that run in hilly regions in India. And many more train runs in India.

·         A Railway Service Post carrying basic pay of GP-B Rs.9300-34800 but excluding the posts in Gr C below.
·         The post of Assistant Nursing Officers carrying Grade Pay Rs.5400.
·         Principal/Head Master/Head Mistress (Secondary/High School & equivalent) (Basic Grade & Sr. Grade) carrying Grade Pay Rs.5400, Rs.6600 and Basic Pay Rs.15600-39100
·         Non-functional Grade of Group B posts of various organized Railway services & RBSS/RBSSS carrying Grade Pay Rs.5400 and Pay will be Rs.15600-39100.

·         A Railway Service Post carrying Grade Pay for Group-C Starts from Rs.4600 and Rs.4200 with Pay Rs.9300-34800.

How to Fill the Online Form-: The candidate can fill their application form in the following ways-:

·       Fill the application form-: Candidate can go to the official website as mentioned above and select the post if the vacancy is visible. Fill the application form. While filling the candidate should have all documents which will be required while filling the form (10th marks sheet, 12th marks sheet, identity proof, bachelor degree, photo and signature of you as required size). Fill the educational section, your name as mentioned in 10th marks sheet, your father name, and mother name if required, gender and religion. Click to submit button before clicking button please check all detail that you mentioned in the form.

·     Upload the documents-: After filling the form it will be required to upload the documents like your e-photo, e-signature and marks if required.  Please do care size for photo and signature while uploading. Photo size should be between 15 kb – 30 kb and signature size should be 5 kb -15 kb. After uploading the required documents move to payment option.

·    Make Payment-: Make payment after filling the form. The payment can be done in both mode online and offline mode. While filling the payment form candidate should keep beside all details of bank card form him/her making the payment. Fill the details like CVV code, card number and select the bank. For offline mode, the candidate has to make Challan form bank and send to the given address.

How to Prepare for Cracking Exam-: To prepare Railways required lot of studies and dedications. The syllabus of Railways is quite lengthy and requires lots of practices. For qualifying, the exam candidate should cover the whole syllabus with good revision. It requires practices a lot because the number of is more as compare to given time. Candidate should increase their solving speed day by day. So that candidate can solve every question in the exam. Follow the steps which are given below in order to prepare for exams:

·    Time Management-: To crack the Railways exam student should manage their time according to the syllabus. Candidates should make proper plan their time for studies and should follow it. Student should develop habit of writing as many as possible tests. Students should set their boundaries in which some part of syllabus should be completed. Every candidate has to reaches each and every question in the exam. As question are good in number so every candidate have manages their time for traversing all questions. Read current affairs daily because it can’t learn in short period of time.

Doing lots practices one can traverse all question in an effective manner. So practices require in order cracking the Railways exam.

·      Concentration-: Concentration is the key to success in Railways. Just concentrate on your syllabus and practice more. Do not pay any attention what going around you. Make sure your mind is not diverting to another topic which apart from your syllabus. Your mind should responsive enough to catch the concepts of the topic which is discussed in the book which you prefer for Railways. ·      Reasoning-: Reasoning is the one the toughest section in the Railways. It requires a lot time to solve. For reasoning, extra times to solve as these questions are very tricky and complex.
