SCRA stands for Special Class Railway Apprentice. It is an examination conducted by the UPSC. This programme was started in the year 1927. It recruits the candidates for the Mechanical Engineering.

UPSC selects the candidates through three stages that are written exam, interview/ personality test and documents verification. The more details about the SCRA Eligibility such as Education required, GE limitation, age relaxation etc. can be found here.

Educational Qualification:

• A citizen of India
• A subject of Nepal
• Subject of Bhutan

 Physical Standards:

Aspirants should be physically fit and according to physical standards for admission to Special Class Railway Apprentice examination.

Age Limitation:

SCRA Age Limit of aspirants should not be below 17 years and must not above 21 years.

Age Relaxation:

The candidate’s age is given above and the Limitation is applicable as per the Government Norms.
