Syllabus: The SSC exam conducts in two Tires. Each tire has syllabus and qualify criteria. The syllabuses are as follows-:

Tire-1 Syllabus

English Language

Reading Comprehension
Passages based on any topic. Questions are mostly fact based & can be directly picked out of the passage. Sometimes vocabulary questions are asked on commonly used words. Scoring, Easy to Solve, High Accuracy Possible, Time Consuming
Fill in the Blanks
A mix of grammar and vocabulary based questions. Important topics: Phrasal verbs, conjunctions, prepositions, tenses, usage in context, confusable words.
Spellings
Choose the correctly spelt word or the misspelled word from different words. The same word can be spelt in different ways and you are asked to select the correct spelling.
Phrase or Idiom Meaning
The meaning of the phrase or idiom can be asked in a sentence. The meaning can also be asked directly.
One Word Substitution
Substitute one word for the phrase given. Go through a list of the one word substitutions from past papers and solve questions on one word substitution.
Phrase Replacement/ Sentence Correction
A mix of grammar and vocabulary Based questions. Important Topics: Tenses, Subject-Verb Agreement, Article-Noun Agreement, Correct Part of Speech, Correct use of Prepositions, Parallelism, Phrasal Verbs, Sentence Construction, Degree of Comparison, Correct use of different parts of speech, Easily confusable words, Usage in Context, Avoid guessing too much in these questions. Be aware of no-improvement questions.
Error Spotting
Tenses, Subject-Verb Agreement, Article-Noun Agreement, Correct Part of Speech, Correct use of Prepositions, Parallelism, Phrasal Verbs, Sentence Construction, Degree of Comparison, Correct use of different parts of SSC

Coding Decoding
Questions on Coding by Analogy, Coding and decoding by letter shifting & Coding Letters of a Word. Could also include, Coding and decoding in fictitious language.
Puzzle
Number based puzzles like 7 × 5 × 6 × 5 = 6575, then 8 × 7 × 4 × 6 = ?or Find the correct equation type questions or Quant based questions like on age, speed and distance or Seating arrangement questions.
Matrix
1 or 2 Matrix of letters with numbers are given from which correct set of numbers for given word is to find out.
Word formation
From the given word find whether the given option words can be formed or not.
Arranging words in Logical order or Dictionary order
It can be meaningful order of doing a certain task, or following a certain rule.In dictionary order words are to be arranged according to dictionary sequence in ascending or descending order.
Venn diagram
Problems based on Venn Diagram Types of Question: Represent the relation between Student, Teacher and Boys.
Directions & Distances
Simple problems that can be solved by just drawing all information on paper.
Blood Relations
Family Tree or General Blood Relation Problems.
Missing Number
Find the missing number from the given matrix or diagram.
Series
Mainly questions on Number & Alphabet series. Question may be Complete the given series a_bc_ _cbad_bcd_cda
Non Verbal Reasoning
Question like Complete the pattern, Assemble Image, Mirror Image, Hidden Image, Counting Figures. Figure based Analogy/Classification/Series or cube based question may be asked.
Verbal Reasoning
Problems on Statements and Conclusions, Statements and Inferences, Statements and Assumptions, Assertion and Reason. Questions on Course of Action & Statements and Arguments can also be asked.

For the SSC Recruitment 2018 there is some basic qualification set by the Organization which is given below.

Academic Qualification:
The academic qualification minimum 10th for the Entry Level job and further for the officer Rank aspirants should be Graduate and for some other post Graduation degree required. Its means the qualification for the SSC Exam should be 10th/ 12th/ graduate /Postgraduate.

Age Criteria:
The age limit varies between 18 to 40 years and also age relaxation as per the Govt rule.

How to prepare for exam

To prepare SSC required lot of studies and dedications. The syllabus of SSC is quite lengthy and requires lots of practices. For qualifying the exam candidate should cover whole syllabus with good revision. It requires practices a lot because number of is more as compare to given time. Candidate should increase their solving speed day by day. So that candidate can solve every question in the exam. Follow the steps which are given below in order the prepare for exam-:

Study Daily-: As the syllabus of SSC is very lengthy so candidate should study daily and practices the question more. Daily studies reduce the pressure of syllabus and get enough time to prepare all topic of syllabus. Revise daily what have been taught to you and practices the concepts.


Time Management-: To crack the SSC exam student should manage their time according to the syllabus. Candidates should make proper plan their time for studies and should follow it. Student should develop habit of writing as many as possible tests. Students should set their boundaries in which some part of syllabus should be completed. As number of question is more, candidate manages the time in this why that he/she can traverse all questions in the given time. Read current affairs daily because it can’t learn in short period of time.

Make Tricks-: If you really want to crack the SSC exam you should make useful tricks. It will very helpful in solving complex questions and reduce extra time. Tricks may help in memorizing the concept and accuracy will maintain. 

Give time to aptitude-: Aptitude contain simple and tricky question. But requires lot of time to solve. So practices the quant’s more and more. Speed of solving question will increase and try to check your accuracy of solving problem. If accuracy of answer varies then you are not going to right path. No use speed when accuracy is not there.

Read newspaper-:  Try to read the English and Hindi newspaper daily. It will increase your English as well as general awareness. Reading is full because it increases your vocabulary and tenses will strong.

Practice-: More practices make a candidate perfect in the topic. Practice of question will increases you speed as well as time management will became good. Doing lots practices one can traverse all question in effective manner. So practices require in order cracking the SSC exam.


Concentration-: Concentration is the key to success in SSC. Just concentrate on you syllabus and practice more. Do not pay any attention what going around you. Make sure your mind is not diverting to another topic which apart from your syllabus. Your mind should responsive enough to catch the concepts of topic which is discussed in book which you prefer for SSC. Our eye should on the book so that we do not miss any word or sentences while reading current affairs. Use your finger to while reading, it also maintain the concentration. While reading avoid eating and drinking. It may distract your mind.

Computer Awareness-: This topic also required practices mainly. In this section question are easy but it will easy when know knowledge about it. Go through the every topic in syllabus make notes of it and do practice. Try to give more time MS tools are present in the desktop or laptops.


Reasoning-: Reasoning is the one the toughest section in the SSC. It requires lot time to solve. For reasoning, extra times to solve as these questions are very tricky and complex. Solve question from previous asked in exams. You get the idea how reasoning question are asked. Reasoning also contains a good score in SSC. It is very helpful qualifying the exam if some of question goes correct. So give good portion of time to reasoning because quite time taking question to solve.

Revision-:  Revision also plays an important role in cracking the any exam. Revision makes us confident and durability of concepts in the mind became more.  Last minute revision is very effective before going for a exam specially for current affairs. Because at time of exam brain works faster mode and responsive time became quicker. Everyone should revise all topics or concepts before going exam. By revising the topics all the concept remains in the brain and chances solving of every question became more. Revision makes everything fresh and feels like studied just now while solving the question. Keep on revise the concept and tricks, increases the speed as well as accuracy of answers.

·         Open the official website of the Staff Selection Commission.
