IRCTC To Start Passenger Insurance

introduced
passenger insurance for unreserved ticketing: On Friday the Indian Railway
Catering and Tourism Corporation reported that it was launching a host of initiatives
that includes passenger insurance and unreserved ticketing.

Chairman and Managing director of IRCTC in Mumbai said that “they are going to
start passenger insurance very soon in this year and he reminded that they have
already passed a letter to three companies which were shortlisted.
Good news for passenger that the insurance
will cost less than Rs. 2 per a trip with a sum insured amount of Rs. 10 lakh”.
IRCTC is going to Launch New Passenger Insurance and Unreserved Ticketing.
IRCTC also introduced paying for digital payments through the SBI’s
mobile wallet Buddy.
For this on Friday both IRCTC and the State Bank of
India agreed and tied up for this digital payment. As public sector is
undertaking of the Railways, which runs catering, tourism, and Internet
ticketing activities.

Manocha said that Indian Railway Catering
and Tourism Corporation works with several institutions like private and public
sector and Central Food Technological research institute, an institute of hotel
management, Catering, and Nutrition”. He also wants to spread the
initiative in other areas also for railway ticketing activities.

Indian
Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation are
improving the android app for cancellation and refund process of the e-ticket.
It is planning to invite its own e-wallet in a renewed form. E-Wallet will
be launched by Dussehra or Diwali most probably in October.
Manocha said that “There was no failure in
card payment hardly it is of 2-3 percent. So, by seeing card payment we are launching
e-Wallet by hoping the same result in the renewed form. It will be free for
first three months by linking PAN card currently later it will also add the
link of Aadhaar card very soon.
