Eastern Railway Jobs 2020 – The ER, Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Kolkata (one of the 17 Zones of Indian Railways) has published recruitment notification for engagement of 2792 posts of Act Apprentices for the year 2019-20 under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, as amended from time to time, in Workshops and Divisions of Eastern Railway.  

This Recruitment Notification is for both fresher and experienced Indian citizens, who have passed minimum 8th standard, 10th (Matric), 12th class (Senior Secondary) and degree qualifications.

It should be noted that as per the previous notification, the last date for online registration of Eastern Railway Apprentice 2020 is 5th April 2020. However, in the wake of Covid-19 Pandemic situation in the country and to alleviate the problems of the students in filling up the form, the online application platform will again open for 15-day Window when the situation becomes normal. In that 15-day window, candidates may fill up new online applications, if not already filled up. They may edit their already filled-up applications, if not filled-up properly and upload documents, if necessary. Those who have already filled up their applications need not fill up again. Total Vacancies : 2792

Age Limit: Minimum 15 years and maximum 24 years.

There will be upper age relaxation of 05 years for SC / ST, 03 years for OBC - NCL and 10 years for PWBD category candidates.

Educational Qualification:

The candidate must have passed 10th class (Matriculation) examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks, in aggregate, from recognized Board and also should possess the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.

For Welder (Gas and Electric) / Sheet Metal Worker / Lineman / Wireman / Carpenter / Painter (General) trades - Minimum educational qualification is 8th class pass from recognized School and the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.

Selection Process: Selection will be based on merit (10th class or 8th std marks and ITI Marks).

Application Fee: ₹ 100/- only (non-refundable). No fee for SC, ST, PWBD and all women candidates.

Mode of Payment: The payment of fees will have to be made online through ‘Payment Gateway’ while filling up the online Application Form. The fee can be made by using Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking etc.
