‘Home Guards’ is a voluntary force, first raised in India in December 1946, to assist the police in controlling civil disturbance and communal riots. The total strength of Home Guards in Rajasthan is 30,714 out of which there are 21,770 Urban Home Guards, 6,280 Rural Home Guards and 2,664 Border Home Guards. The organization enrolls  the eligible youth of the State and tries to instill in them a sense of national security, discipline and selfless service.
