Destitute Widows:
Destitute Widows
are eligible for age concession of 2 years over and above the maximum age limit
prescribed above.
(ii) For
Differently Abled Persons:
Differently Abled
Persons are eligible for age concession upto 10 years over and above the
maximum age limit prescribed above.
(iii) For
ex-servicemen:
a. The maximum age
limit is 53 Years for the Applicants who belong to SC, SC(A), ST,MBC/DNC,BC,
BCM.
b. The maximum age
limit is 48 years for “others” (i.e.) Applicants not belonging to any of the
above said categories.
c. The above
concession will not apply to the Applicants those who have already been
recruited to any class or service or category.

About the organisatioin: The
main functions of the TNPCB under the provisions of the Water (Prevention and
Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of
Pollution) Act, 1981 are as follows. TNPCB is a three-tier system consisting of
an Head-office at Chennai, Zonal offices and District offices with a total
staff strength of 623. Besides, which a separate wing of laboratories are linked
to the offices at three levels. The Board has 7 Regional Offices headed by
Joint Chief Environmental Engineers. Further there are 38 district offices
headed by District Environmental Engineers. Two flying squads are also
functioning at Erode and Tiruppur. To assist the Board in monitoring the
industries, 8 Advanced Environmental Laboratories, 8 District Environmental
Laboratories are functioning. These laboratories carry out analysis of samples
of sewage, trade effluent, emission and hazardous waste.
