Joint Seat Allocation Authority is all set to start JEE Main Counselling process. All those applicants who have declared qualified in JEE Main Exam they are eligible to attend CSAB Counselling procedure. Students may also check JEE Main Online Seat Allotment Process, dates and process to fill online counseling form etc.

For admissions to 97 institutes that includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 20 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) Authority is going to start JoSAA counselling which is scheduled to be start from 15-06-2017 for the academic year 2017-18. Central Board of Secondary Education conducts the JEE Main Examination for those contenders who are interested in engineering courses.

JEE MAIN Counselling

Counselling Eligibility Criteria:
·         Contenders has to qualify in JEE Main 2017 by securing marks above the set cut-off Benchmarks.
·         Top 220000 qualified contenders in JEE Main will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2017.
·         For getting final selection in ITI, candidate also has to qualify JEE Advanced after qualifying in mains exams.
·         In order to qualify for admission into IITs/NITs/CFTIs, contenders must have secure minimum 75% marks in 12th exam or be in top 20 percentile in 12th class exam conducted by respective board.
·         Minimum marks for SC/ST candidates in 12th examination are 65%.
·         Contenders who accepted the IIT seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past or whose admission in IITs was cancelled are not eligible for admission.
·         Candidates who have paid seat acceptance fee but not accepted the seat (by not reporting at any reporting centre during joint seat allocation in 2016) are eligible for admission.


JEE Main Counselling Process:
·         Applicants who have qualified in JEE Main Exam they  can apply for this Counselling.
·         There will be six stages in the counseling
·         Candidate must attend all these stages to get the final allotment confirmation and join the course.

Following is the list of stages:
·         Counselling Registration
·         Choice Filling & Locking
·         Seat Allotment
·         Fee Payment & Seat Acceptance
·         Reporting at Allotted Reporting Centre
·         Reporting to Allotted Institution


Reservation of Seats:
·         According to the rules of Government of India, contenders who belongs to reserved category reservation in seats is provided.
·         Reserved categories include the following casts Other Backward Classes- Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) & Persons with Disability (PwD).
·         Contenders who will get admission to State Engineering colleges through JEE Main, the reservation rules of that state will apply.
·         The seat reservation benefits only given to candidates, those classes/castes/tribes are in the respective central list published by the Govt of India for admission to NITs/IIITs and CFTIs.

Procedure to Be Followed For JEE MAIN Counselling 2017:


Online Registration:
·         First step of every individual is to log on to official website of organization that is josaa.nic.in.
·         Select appropriate link for registration of JEE Main counseling.
·         Some details will be asked regarding candidate.
·         Fill the asked details like JEE Main 2017 Roll No.” & “Password”.
·         When all the process is done hit login tab.
·         After that, some instructions will appear, read them carefully and if you satisfy with them press “I Agree” button.
·         Now, registration form of JoSSA will appear.
·         Tick on “declaration” button
·         Read the information carefully to remove any error if occurred
·         After filling the details press on to “confirm Registration” tab.


Online Choice Filling and Locking:
·         After the registration process is completed, select “Choice Available” option.
·         Select Institute Type, Institute Name & Academic Programme.
·         Press on “Choice Filling & Locking” option.
·         Now, choose Colleges & Courses according to your interest and fill maximum possible choices for allotment.
·         After selecting the choices, arrange them in decreasing order by pressing on “choice Interchange” option and then press “Submit” tab.
·         If candidates want to delete their filled choices, hit on the “Multiple Deletion” option.
·         Lock the choices before the deadline by clicking on the option “Lock Choice”.
·         Make choices carefully, choices one locked will not change.
·         Choice locking will be made after each round of counselling.
·         Mark upgraded choice in successive rounds of choice filling and locking process.

Seat Allotment:
·         Seat Allotment will be done on the basis of reservation norms, choices filled and vacancies.
·         Candidates will get an Email/SMS regards to the seat allotment after a few days of choice lock.
·         Download the seat allotment letter.

Fee Payment & Seat Acceptance:
·         Afterwards, pay the acceptance fees to confirm the allotment of seats.
·         Candidates have to deposit the fee via SBI Net Banking/e-Challan.
·         Verify all the documents at any reporting center for provisional seat acceptance.
·         A provisional admission letter will be issued on completion of the process.

Note: 
Previous year, the seat acceptance fee is Rs.20000 for SC/ST/SC-PwD/ST-PwD/GEN-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD & for all other Candidates Rs. 45000.


Reporting to Allocated Institution:
·         Contenders have to report to the allotted institution after the fee acceptance.
·         Candidates have to report at the allotted college along with all the original documents and certificates.
·         Contenders, those allotted a seat in NIT, IIIT, IIEST & other GFTI colleges have to report only at reporting center of these institutions.
·         Candidates who have allotted seat in IIT & ISM have to report only at reporting center of IITs.

·         Class 12th Mark Sheet
·         Pay slip of Seat Acceptance Fee
·         JEE Main 2017 Admit Card
·         10th Class Passing Certificate
·         Category Certificate (if applicable)
·         Foreign candidates have to bring attested photocopy and original nationality certificate/ passport.
·         Passport size photographs
·         Provisional Seat Allotment Letter
·         JEE Main 2017 Score Card
·         Medical Certificate
