Union Public Service Commission has depicted a notice of UPSC Geologist 2018 Exam for those candidates who are willing to make their career in government sector. Union public service commission is going to fill 70 posts of Geologist, Geo scientist, Chemist, and Hydro geologists. Interested candidates need to fill the online application form.

Candidate should be a:
  • Citizen of India
  • a subject of Bhutan
  • Nepal
  • of Indian origin but migrated either from East African countries of Kenya, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire and Ethiopia
  • or Vietnam
  • Or Tibetan refugees who came across the country in prior of the 1st January, 1962 for permanent settling over here.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • For Geologists & Junior Hydro Geologists Grade ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India: Master’s degree in Geology or Geological Science or Applied Geology or Mineral Exploration or Geo-Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Petroleum Geosciences or Coastal Area Studies or Petroleum Exploration or Geophysical Technology.
  • For Geophysicists Grade ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India: M.Sc. (Geophysics) or M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) Or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics)
  • For Chemists Grade ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India: M. Sc. in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry or Applied Chemistry.

Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of J&K during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989 will get 05 years relaxation in age
Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST will get 05 years.
  • OBC will get 03 years.
  • Ex-Servicemen will get 05 years
  • PWD candidates will get 10 years.
  • Government servants will get 07 years
Application Fee:
  • Pay an application fee of Rs 200/-.
  • SC, ST, PH and female need not to pay the fees.
  • Deposit either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of relevant branches as follows.

  4. State Bank of Patiala
  5. State Bank of Travancore or
  • By using Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card.

Selection Process:
Organization will conduct the written test and Interview / Personality Test.

UPSC Geologist Exam Pattern:
There will be two parts- Part I and Part II.
  • Part I will consist of written test having duration of 03 hours for each paper.
  • Part II will include interview/ personality test carrying 200 marks.

  • Certificate of Age.
  • Certificate of Educational Qualification.
  • Certificate in support of claim to belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward
  • Classes where applicable.
  • Certificate in support of claim for age/ fee concession, wherever applicable.
  • Certificate in support of being physically handicapped (wherever applicable)

  • Fill Online Application Formwith complete details.
  • Revisit the site for part two registration.
  • After complete the part- I, go for process that is Part-II registration by filling the entries.
  • Upload the scan copy of essential documents such as passport size photograph and signature.
  • At the end take a print out of system generated form for further references.
