TN Free Bus Pass Scheme

The Tamil Nadu government continues to make life simple and harmonious people. In line with this objective, the Chief Minister Jayalalithaa launched the program free bus passes for students. This was done to make the educational process more expensive by reducing transportation costs. The scheme was launched by the joint effort of the Department of Education.

The free bus tickets are underway for all students entering the group of 6-14 years of age. Using a pass, a school student can easily get to school without having to spend money on bus fares. This smart card has been issued is applicable to all government transport buses that are functional in the state and in all districts of the state.

Tamil Nadu students free bus pass will be available for all students studying in classes 1 to 8. This will facilitate commuting to school and back for all cardholders. The smart card is valid until 31 December 2020.

The state government of Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa in the reforms led to a spectacular pace. To make the price bearable education for all students, the government issued a new regime. Under this scheme, the Government will issue smart cards to all private and public schools in the state.

These smart cards will enable students to travel free on buses of state enterprises and schools. It was a need that many schools are located closer to cities and towns that are distant students had to go a long way to reach schools

With the system in action, transport costs will be raised by the heads of the parents. This will allow more children to reach their school safely and in a timely manner, so that their education does not suffer.

How do Students Apply for Free Bus Pass Scheme in TN

·         Children can sign up for free bus passes by applying to their school principals.

·         Parents will have to submit written application along with address proof and a passport size photograph of the child.
