XAT 2017 Application Form, Important Dates Notice, Eligibility Criteria


XAT 2017

Good News for those candidates who want to
get admission in Post Graduate MBA-IB can apply for XAT 2017. This examination gets conducted and organized by XLRI Jamshedpur. This is a national level, one of the biggest entrance tests of management courses.

The organization has scheduled the examination on 08 January 2016. Candidates who are eager appear for this examination to take admission in MBA-IB course, they may have an online& Offline application is given below link to appear whichever suitable for you. 

Candidates will be invited for second phase of selection process comprising Group Discussion, Essay Writing and Interview.

Eligibility Criteria:

·         Candidates should have completed Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute.

·         NRI and Foreign candidates can apply via GMAT Score card (except Dubai and Kathmandu candidates).


·         Those in the final year of graduation are also eligible to apply.

Application Fee:

You need to pay Rs. 1500. If you want to apply for XLRI as well, then you will have to pay Rs. 1750. (Rs. 250 more).
  
Syllabus:

·   GK & Awareness- Current affairs, constitution, countries, sports CE, Persons, Inventions & discoveries, Animals, Languages, Buildings, Famous Personalities, Awards & honors, Currencies, Indian & world geography, Indian & world history, democratic policy, current events etc.

·         Quantitative analysis- Venn diagram, binomial expansion, vectors, trigonometry, probability, clocks, partnership, installment payments, set theory, mode, median, maxima & minima progression, Combinations & permutations, simple & compound interest, geometric mean, arithmetic mean, geometric progression, time-speed-distance, arithmetic progression, number base system, allegation & mixture, percentages, averages, number system, harmonic mean, profit & loss, Ratio & proportion, Geometry.

·    English- Punctuation, sentence correction, errors in word choice, antonyms, analogies, jumbled paragraphs with 4 or 5 sentences, syllogisms, verbal reasoning, fill in the blanks, comprehension of passage, contextual usage etc.

·   Logical reasoning- Coding-decoding, matrix arrangements, symbol based problem, family tree problem, puzzles, identifying probably true, statements & assumptions, definitely true, identifying strong & weak arguments, identifying valid inferences, Statements & conclusions, Assertion & reason, visual reasoning, assumption-premise-conclusion, critical reasoning.

Exam Pattern:

·         The examination will be held in offline mode.

·         There will be total 78 questions with the duration of 170 minutes.

·         There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer, however there is no penalty for GK & Essay sections.

·         There will be 5 sections in the question paper that will be divided into 2 parts as follows-

·         Decision making/ Analytical reasoning

·         Quantitative ability/ Data interpretation
