SBI from 1st April from below equipped section. Government of India (GOI) has decided to merge the Bharatiya Mahila Bank (BMB) with the
State Bank of India (SBI).The merger will ensure greater banking services
outreach to a larger number of women, at a more rapidly pace.
Main objectives of affordable credit to
women as well as circulation of women-centric products can be attained competently
through SBI wider network at lower cost. Previously,
the government has also merged the five Associate Banks with SBI. These two
mergers will make SBI the largest public sector bank in India.
In coming days, SBI will expect to increase
the presented workforce to meet the goals. The number of posts for SBI
Probationary Officer (PO), Clerk and Specialist Officer (SO) will likely to
increase as SBI will have to fill the vacant as well as newly created posts.
SBI is likely to create more employment avenues for women through this merger.

“The choice to merge BMB with SBI has
been taken in view of the advantage of the large network of SBI. The merger
will help in catering larger number of women at a faster pace and developing
women-entric products,” stated the notification issued by PIB. SBI has more
than 20,000 branches across the country and abroad. There are around two lakh
employees in SBI. Out of the total work force, 22 % are women.
Every year Bank recruits large number of
candidates to the post of PO, Clerk and SO through the
process of preliminary exam, mains exam and interview. State Bank of India
will release notification for Junior Associates (JA) and Junior Agricultural
Associates (JAA) in April 2017. With this merger, it can be expected that SBI
will come up with huge number of vacancies. Moreover, SBI has started with the
process of recruitment of PO. A total of 2403 vacant posts of PO will
be filled through this recruitment.
